The traditional method is with brackets and wires. These brackets can be porcelain or metal. The advantage of the porcelain is that they do not “show” on your teeth as much as the metal can.
However, treatment with porcelain brackets takes longer than with the metal. So, if you want to get this process over with sooner, rather than later, then we would recommend working with metal brackets over porcelain. Most of our patients have said that the metal brackets are smoother and more comfortable to wear than the porcelain.

Treatment
Children & Teens – Early treatment can avoid problems such as crooked, crowded teeth, overbites and cross bites. Initial intervention can regulate the width of the dental arches, gain space for permanent teeth, avoid extractions and drastically reduce the time spent in braces as a teenager. Sometimes we have even eliminated the need for a second phase of Orthodontia – saving parents a lot of money!
Adult Orthodontia – you have probably wanted straighter teeth for a while but did you know that straight teeth are connected to your holistic wellbeing.
Teeth can be a window to your overall health. If your teeth are not correctly aligned – then that causes wear on your tooth enamel and jaw joints. Similar to bad alignment in your car which can damage the tires and other components – bad alignment with teeth can lead to chipped, cracked and broken teeth & crowns. Crooked teeth are difficult to keep clean. Bacteria cause tooth decay and gum disease. This can lead to other more serious health issues such as heart disease, stroke, premature babies, pneumonia and diabetes. We provide the option for conventional braces and Invisalign.
Caring for your teeth can be challenging while you are in braces as there are a lot of wires, brackets and elastic bands to work around. Moreover, because you have these extra “nooks & crannies” in your mouth, there are more places for food particles to be stuck in. It is vital that you pay extra time and attention on brushing & flossing your teeth to avoid permanent staining, tooth decay, gum disease or just the embarrassment of food stuck between your teeth when you talk. We will show you how to brush & floss around your braces.
